Holiday Fundraiser / Rheo Thompson Mint Smoothies

posted Nov 24, 2019, 7:11 AM by ASC Ayr Skating Club   [ updated Nov 24, 2019, 7:12 AM ]

Many of you have been inquiring about the Holiday Greenery fundraiser that we have done for the past several years.  Regrettably our supplier has decided that they are going to close for the winter season moving forward (and won't be doing the fundraiser anymore).  Despite an extensive search we were unable to find another supplier for holiday greenery at a similar price to what we have all enjoyed.

With that said, we are pleased to offer a new holiday fundraiser - Rheo Thompson Mint Smoothies.  For those of you who aren't familiar with them, Rheo Thompson is a fine chocolatier in Stratford.  Their mint flavoured chocolate smoothies are one of their most popular items.

$3 each or 2 for $5. Drop by the ASC club office or talk to one of our skating families to place your order by 14-Dec-2019. Cash and carry. We've also attached an order form below to help with placing orders (maybe at your work place)?

Thanks on behalf of the ASC! It is fundraising like this which helps us to keep our program fees as low as possible for our skaters!

Due to the snowy/slippery road conditions, reports of numerous accidents, and that all of our coaches come from out of town, we will have to cancel all scheduled sessions for this evening.

CanSkate families, if you wish to make up your lesson from this evening, you are welcome to join in on one of our Saturday sessions at the ACC.  Please just let us know the date you wish to make up in advance so that we can plan accordingly.

Thanks in advance for your understanding and stay safe!

In accordance with Rowan's Law, Skate Ontario has developed a standardized best practice Concussion Policy for the sport of figure skating in Ontario. This policy is not age dependent, all skaters, coaches, officials, and volunteers must be treated in the same manner.

Starting with the 2019/2020 Season, all participants (or guardians of under age participants) must read, review, and acknowledge the concussion awareness information provided by Skate Ontario.

Please click this link to launch a form which will provide all of the relevant information and let you electronically sign your Skate Ontario Concussion Policy Attestation:

Interested in Skating but can't afford it - FCC and Jumpstart can help!

posted Sep 8, 2019, 7:45 PM by ASC Ayr Skating Club   [ updated Sep 8, 2019, 7:45 PM ]

If your child is interested in learning to skate but you are concerned about fitting the program fees into your budget, the Family Counselling Centre (FCC) of Cambridge and North Dumfries may be able to help.

FCC has formed a partnership with the JumpStart Program which helps kids stay active by giving kids from families in financial need the same change to participate as their neighbours, classmates, and friends.  Whether it's the chance to try a new sport or to continue with a favourite one, no kid should be left out.  You can apply at FCC's Ayr office, located right in the North Dumfries Community Complex Health Centre.  See the attached flyer below for more information about the program as well as a contact card.

More information about the JumpStart Program is available at:
