Kayla Diebold, Base Coach

I started my coaching journey when I was 10 years old as a PA in the CanSkate Program. I fell in love with coaching and helping skaters to find their passion on the ice. I took the CanSkate Coaching course and began coaching Canskate for KWSC. After skating on the University of Waterloo's Varsity team I decided to get my Regional Coaching so I could help coach the team. Shortly after I moved to New Zealand where I coached at a small club in Christchurch. I had the opportunity to take skaters and the Adult Synchro team to South Islands, Nationals and Australian Nationals. I returned to Canada in 2018 and Co-directed the Ice Show shortly after landing. The Show had over 500 skaters that year! I have since continued to coach in a part-time capacity on the CanSkate sessions and assisting on the StarSkate sessions. I currently am a base coach for the Ayr Skating Club;

Jacob Stark, Base Coach

I have recently begun my journey as a coach to help inspire the love for skating that was inspired in me at a young age. I am a Canskate and Regional Trained Coach with 2 years of experience. I have skated for 14 years with the Kitchener Waterloo Skating Club. I have coached a variety of Canskate, STAR, and Power sessions. Some of my individual achievements in skating include, National and International competitions, Youth Olympic Games 2024 competitor, Gold skills, freeskate, dance and artistic and hopefully more to come. I am excited to continue my coaching journey in Ayr and assist with my expertise in dance and skating skills.

Program Assistants

Program Assistants (PA) are an important part of a successful Pre Canskate / Canskate Program.  They work alongside the professional coaches to help deliver a quality program.  The PA program allows experienced skaters to serve as role models for our younger skaters, and practice their leadership skills.   The PA program can also be used to complete high school volunteer hours.
