History

Located in Ayr, Ontario, Canada, the Ayr Skating Club (ASC) is a Skate Canada sanctioned, not-for-profit organization that provides skating instruction programs for all ages.

The ASC was founded in 1970, and is located at the North Dumfries Community Complex (NDCC). The ASC provides programs for youth who are learning to skate all the way up to adult skating. Both recreational and competitive skating programs are offered.

The ASC is a “Community Club” with a warm, small town, welcoming feel. The club provides a friendly environment to hone skating skills. Despite being a small club, we have had skaters compete at sectional, provincial, national, and international competitions.

The ASC skates at the NDCC Monday through Friday, and at the Ayr Community Centre (ACC) on Saturdays. The ASC's office is located at the NDCC. Locations and maps to both arenas are available in the Find Us section.

As a not-for-profit organization, the club is run completely by volunteers. Volunteers fill roles for the Board of Directors, registration, fundraising, testing, ice show/gala, and support of club operations on a daily basis. We are very fortunate to have volunteers who are willing to donate their time to contribute to our club’s success.
